Privacy
What the site keeps about the people who read it and write to it. Effective Oct. 18, 2026.
Reading the site
The site sets no cookies and has no accounts. Page views are counted without identifying anyone: the page path, a coarse class of browser or crawler and the kind of site that linked here. A daily token derived from the connection and browser, through a secret that changes every day, counts distinct visitors within a day and cannot be linked across days. The address of the connection is not stored. Cloudflare, which serves the site, processes connection data under its own terms.
Writing to the site
A correction request or a message sends the name, email address and text a person typed, with the record it is about. They are kept so we can review the request and reply, and a notice is mailed to the team's inbox. The connection address is used for the rate limit, the Cloudflare Turnstile check and a daily sending quota, and is not stored with the message. Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending the form, runs under Cloudflare's terms.
The records themselves
The records describe organizations, drawn from public regulatory and corporate filings. They name no individual. Contact channels listed for an organization are its designated channels; a person's own address is not collected. A person named in a source document may ask for a review through the correction form on the record.
Retention
Correction requests and messages are kept while the matter is open and for the record of the decision. Page count rows are pruned after about 90 days. Archived source documents are kept as long as each source's terms permit, apart from whether they are served.
